Its’s nice to have a cold treat on a hot day but, having sugary snacks and drinks between mealtimes causes tooth decay – including sugary ice lollies and ice creams.
You can buy sugar free ice pops or make tooth-kind cold treats at home, but remember “no added sugar” is not the same as “sugar free”.

Alternative tooth-kind ideas for cold treats include:
- Having fresh fruit chilled in the fridge – watermelon, berries, apples and pears are ideal.
- Freezing a sugar-free drink in a reusable ice-pop mould.
- Keeping a bottle of water in fridge to drink chilled.
